I once bought a mains electric blue bulb bug killer from our local pound shop (cost me a tenner ). It had good entertainment value watching the flies fly past but it didn't catch any. I would have been better off with some sticky fly paper.

I believe the battery operated tennis racket type are much better entertainment, especially when you accidentally swipe OH round the ear with it.

we got one of the electric bug killers from Aldi or Lidl last year to use camping in France. I've been using it in the kitchen the last few days as the flies were driving me mad. It seems to be working as alot less flies.
