Hi,Can anyone help?

We are after a rear flat carry rack and cargo bag like the one Khyam used to do. This is to carry the Montana 12 tentand poles on the back of the car, sowe cantake our dog campiing this year.

We can't find one andonly have 5 weeksto try and get one, can anyone recommend one? Is there anyone on here that wants to sell one?

The rack goes on a 50mm tow bar. We have seen racks about, but we are struggling to find the Cargo bag. The rola cargo bag looks good but it is only sold in the USA.

I have seen many of these in use in Ireland. I think you will have to look to suppliers in that country.

These always seem handy bits of kit...but what worrys me with them are the forces involved on the horizontal due to leverage (and the "shock" forces from potholes!),especially if they are overloaded!

(..just try holding up a push bike, with your forearm horizontal, compared to with it vertical..)

The inclusion of say a ratchet strap, fixed diagonally to a high point on the rear of the vehicle would help no end).

Just my thoughts..

Also, don't forget that whatever weight you load on it is being carried quite a long distance behind the wheels.  You need to check your rear axle loading, and of course, carried to extremes, it would make your steering very light.

Weight should ideally be carried within the wheelbase of the car.

Well, we managed a few thousand miles with it on the back of our Peugeot Boxer Autosleeper Symbol with no problems at all. We found it so useful when there was limited storage within the van.Couldn't believe they'd stopped making them!

Yeah..but you weren't in the car behind..watching it bounce up and down and waiting for it to fall under your front wheels..

Just because it ususally survives a journey doesn't necessarily mean it's safe or legal.

I'm not saying it's not, but it's worth checking.
