We bought one for my 4 year old as did not fancy middle of the night toilet trips when he is half asleep. I also have a 2 year old and it will be great for him when he starts toilet training. They are really sturdy and as already mentioned have a removable shaped bucket insert, a proper seat and lid that can be closed. You can also get wipeable covers for them too 1. to disguise it and 2. so that it can be used as an extra seat if needed.
It has been ideal for my son and also big enough for me to use in the middle of the night too! We generally find that you can line the bucket with a supermarket carrier bag without holes and that has worked a treat for us. I also splash some zoflora in the bucket and rinse with boiling water anyway. We then use the khazi to store items like the gas bottle and hiking boots when in transit to ensure that no space is wasting.
We chose the khazi as found it to be less bulky than a porta potty, but sturdier than a bucket, it provides enough support for the kids but is still big enough for us to use too. I was initially concerned about how hygienic it would be - but as mentioned above it is fine!
I've had a luggable loo for some years now and it works just fine. As it's just for me and I clean it every day I just wipe round it with a Parazone wipe really. I think I bought it before the Kampa Khazi came out, but I've seen them and they do look very stable and solid and I'd definitely think about getting one next time. But I think the Luggable is a little higher, which is a plus for me. And I rather like the in yer face styling.
lol at glastonbury I had to let the kids do whatever they needed on the khazi, it was far safer than attempting to use the site loos!! and yes one morning I was a little sick too, I'm sure it was heatstroke as honestly I did only have a bit of wine!!

A friend of mine gave me a Thetford 235 a couple of years back, when they moved on to caravaning, it's been a great little unit, manual flush, and a kinda fuel gauge indicator to let you know when the tank is getting full, although the unit is an old model now, I have had no problem getting spares for it of the shelf, recently I have replaced the fush bellows and the flush tube, and it is as good as new now, Aldi were doing a very similar model a couple of months back, although Aldi branded it caried a Thetford label and model number, they were around £40 which is a bargain for a brand new Thetford, in fact the spares I bought for mine were not far of that amount lol, did not think I would ever need a porta-poti, but as I aproach the silver years, needs must and all that, but n.o. 1's only of course!!.
Another vote for Kampa Khazi. I doubt it would tip over in a nuclear explosion. Certainly survives our little ones launching themselves on to it.
A bit of disinfectant in the bottom keeps the smells down. Probably empty it a three times a day but that is with continual use by 3 kids. It's a godsend at 4 in the morning. Remember to turn the torch off prior to use or you'll provide the rest of the site with an amusing silhouette.
Bought a Fiamma Bi Pot, used it for one trip and binned it. Couldn't stop it leaking round the emptying cap, which is not what you want in your camper van.
Portapottie, which empties through a pipe on top of the waste tank is a much better bet.

The only one I have ever heard bad reports about is the campingaz one, which was prone to leaking from the seals.
Doh we've just got this Campingaz one I'm going to test it before we go next week...
I have to second the porta potty we bought one for about £20 secondhand it was barely used and its a godsend especially with a toddler! Saves late night walks to the toilets and is quite compact for travelling!
I have just bought a fiamma bipot 39
it is nice and sturdy and is about the same height as my toilet at home, it is more stable and comfortable than my old porta poti and you can even get an insert for it to turn it into a bidet
