As I e-mailed Rob from Delta Pegs just this week having ordered my second batch of 10 Deltas, they really are the Dogs Dangly Bits of the tent peg world.
you can get the ones that you use with a rock peg which would be best for rocky ground i have used normal ones in hard soil with no probs but i suppose it would be possible to break them at some point.

Nylon pegs won't last too long but original stainless or Delta rocks will. Expensive to start with but last a long time making them good value.
