Hi all,
wondered if anyone can help. we have a Harrison awning (brunel model) which we got with caravan. I am looking to buy an annexe but unfortunately having searched on the wonderful world wide web cant find any link to Harrison awnings nor to any company that seem to sell the awnings or accessories. Does anyone have any idea on if there is a standard fit for annexes, I have seen a universal one advertised but it doesnt zip in and I'm not sure I fancy that. Also, do many campsites have restrictions on annexes? due to the make of awning the annexe can only fit on the rear of the van.
Cheers
Jan

no there isnt a standard fit for annexes, some vary in length, zip type, some attach into the awning rail, the universal ones attach to the poles inside your awning, i have one of these but hav not used it yet,

We use a little tent in the awning.  You can pick cheap 2/3 man tents up cheap in supermarkets which are perfect and easy to set up.  As they are to be used in the awning it doesn't matter if they are not waterproof :)

We've just got a pop up tent for ds to sleep in as its smaller so will take up less space.  We've also got a 3 berth inner but it takes up a lot of room if its only going to be used by one person.  We've thought about an annex but they are really expensive.

On our porch awning we've got an annex and its perfect for weekends :)

I googled Harrison and lots of companies selling Harrison awnings came up but not one for the company themselves :(

I've seen the annex's on ebay...

Does your awning panel slide into the rail and connect to the main part of the awning at the top, with a J shape zip ?

or does the panel zip out with an upside down U shape zip ?
if its the j shape zip the universal annexe won't be suitable. I researched this when I had an awning with a panel that slid into the awning rail.

you need to have a U shaped zip out panel..

the universal annexes come with an upright pole to attach to the side awning pole near the caravan wall. The straps then attach to this pole, the side pole and the front corner pole.
they are like synthetic tent material , not heavy acrylic /canvas stuff like the awnings are made of .

ok.. we have a u shaped zipout pane.. so the universal anexe will have a pole to attach the annexe on the caravan side.. that sounds perfect..thanks debbie

Hi Jan,

we recently bought a Harrison awning and annex. There is a pic on here somewhere in the caravan section. I'll see if I can find the link and where we bought it from and post back on here.

Just had quick look. You can see our awning on the camping and caravaning forum, the thread is on page 4 of the forum. It's called 'pictures' and the pic of the awning is on page 12. Sorry, not much good at doing links!
