Hi i was camping in wales last year and half way into our holiday we had to move pitch to a another position on erecting the tent back up one of the poles snapped luckily in the van was some duct tape so i was able to do a repair job . The tent is a gelert horizon 6 and the pole that snapped was the blue section does anyone know where i can get a replacement set or get a repair done many thanks Rob
you only need to replace the broken section , not the whole pole .doesnt need to be gelert brand pole as long as it is the same diameter.
you can cut poles to length with a junior hacksaw. wrap masking tape around before cutting and rub with sandpaper to remove any sharp bits.
undo the knot in the elastic, remove broken section, then rethread new section on. singe end of elastic in a flame, Drop the elastic down through the pole is easiest way.
any camping shop will sell replacements. go outdoors will do the repair for you if you have one nearby, a lot of shops also offer repair service. but it is a 5 minute job to do it yourself.
