People will have different views on the best electric heaters because it is down to personal preference but I think fan heaters are probably the most common. The best fan heaters are those with two heat settings (I wouldn't go over 2000w maximum), a thermostat, and a safety cut-out switch which turns it off if knocked over.
Something like this is fine but you can pick them up cheaper than that
we used in laws hallogen (sp?) heater. Lovely and warm and a lush orange cosy glow. Perfect for me to give baby his bottle to in dark! Also if knocked its got a cut out x
I love my fan heater. It has 2 settings, variable heat, thermostatic control and cool air function. We only ever use it on the 1kw setting and have the heat setting at about 1/2 and this is more than enough to heat our Khyam Ontartio 8 at the beginning and end of the season (March/April and October)
If you have decent sleeping bags and layer your clothes, I wouldn't have thought you'd need a heater during the summer months.
