Hi, i need to buy a toilet, to use overnight really, my daughter is recovering from a broken leg so need one that is quite high as she is now as tall as me!! and cant push up very well as she only has the use of one leg! Any advice greatfully received.
the luggable loo is quite high but it's not hugely sturdy so you might need to put something next to it which she can push herself up with?

Chy Carne July/Aug 2011...
I'd go for a Thetford of some sort and if necessary put it on a platform of breeze blocks or similar.
The other option is to talk to your Red Cross or Social Services, Dad has a frame that goes around his loo that increases the height of the seat and provides a frame for him to push up from.
For a child, she's probably strong enough to lever herself up from a portaloo using her good leg anyway so I suspect a loo on blocks will be fine - or or course there is the good old commode chair that social services will no doubt be able to provide.
Luggable loo is the highest, and is reasonably stable (I have one). The Kamping Khazi is probably more stable and a little bit lower. If it was me I'd get an old dining chair off Freecycle, take the seat out and put the Luggable underneath.
I was also going to recommend the Fiamma Bi Pot - I also have a Thetford Porta Potti but personally think the Fiamma is better made, strudier and easier to use.

I was going to suggest something along that route.
I tell you what though, somebody's getting bl**dy rich off other peoples' ailments!!
Just check out some of these prices!(..porta loos and handrail, half way down page):
my husband has a skin disorder and he doesn't have much leg movement, he struggles to get off the loo at home! we use a Thetford 165, the older one and it is quite high, we also put a foldable tent tidy next to it, and he uses that for leveridge! he can't get off without the tent tidy (stores the shoes too) so i have to physically lift him off.
