today was our 1st go at putting up the coleman mackensie cabin4.we followed the diagrams as best we could and it went up but i have a few questions for anyone out there that has one of these.
we put down the footprint and pegged.
unfolded tent and centered.
put in poles and up she went.
would it be better to peg down end corners first , then put up 1st section , then secure guy ropes, then proceed to 2nd set of poles?
how do you set yours up.
it seemed as though if any wind about the tent would have taken off before we had it pegged down.
any help appreciated steve
Outwell do videos of all their tents being put up and taken down. For larger ones the tent is laid out, poles threaded then the rear of the tent is pegged down before any poles are lifted into the final position.
As you say get it into shape and with a wind it will take off like a huge kite.
Leave guy ropes until the last job so you can adjust as you go.
Migh be worth checking out an Outwell video for a tent similar in size to yours and see how they do it.
