Hi, We have an abbey gts 417 and have a seasonal pitch. From oct to march we have to take down our full awning but can replace it with a porch awning. There are so many on the market so wondering what recommendations people have (and one to avoid). Obviously it is going to be used during the worst weather so will need a fairly sturdy one. We tend to use the awning when the children have gone to bed so one with enough space for a couple of chairs and small table (for the tv) would be ideal.

I have just bought the Kampa Raylle 390 - and so far have used on one weekend only.  Plenty of room and seems sturdy with an option of storm straps, which I havn't taken.

Previous we had the Suncamp ultima 260 which although smaller did the same thing for us although after 4 yrs was starting to show it's age.

What seems better on the Kampa is that the mud flaps are on the inside, and the option I took to buy the monsoon roof poles has already helped, by stpping the rain 'sagging' and pooling on the roof.

Happy days
John

...... and the rear ploles which provide a good seal between the van and the awning. We have the Kampa Rally 260. We had 4 for dinner in it quite easily. You need to check where on the van to pitch it so that it doesn't obscure a window etc. We have the storm straps etc and it has stood up to some weather quite well so far BUT leaving a lightweight polyester porch awning on a seasonal pitch..... not too sure ! Maybe be something more substantial is required such as a Dorema or an Isabella (2nd hand ones are very reasonable).

Hope this helps, Shirley.
