I always put a synthetic chamois in the bottom of my coolbox to soak up most of the water

I usually make a large pasta sauce & a chilli,  and fill a couple of large plastic boxes then freeze them. I then have 2 rather large ice packs for the cool box.

They can take up to 2 days to defrost, so I find it works for me. However I really like the idea of the wine box. (get's you into the spirit before you go LOL)
