Hubby and I are taking our young grandchildren camping in the October half term,
I have always fancied sitting outside round a fire especially dark nights,
The campsite that we are going to allows fires as long as wood is not used, and the fire is 6 inches off the ground, can anyone recommend one please, not too expensive

we went to a camp site once that allowed fires, in upturned old spare car wheels it kept the fires small and contained. so you could burn wood, coal or charcaol for a bbq with a grill over the top. it worked very well.
p.s if using your own car spare best remove the tyre first.....lol.
we use a cast iron BBQ bought for £8 B&Q, fire logs can be bought for 99p in B&M stores, they don't spark and just enough smoke so you know your camping, but not enough to choke you.
Good enough a fire to toast marshmallows with the kids
A site I went to in Somerset provided upturned empty beer kegs and the old fashioned dustbin lids, turned upside down. See what you can find on the skips!
Thank you all for your lovely replies and suggestions, we have been into Focus today and bought a kettle BBQ. great bargain as they have an end of season sale, it was £29.99 reduced to £12.99 and as it was the last one they knocked another £4 off because it was nor in a box.
I will certainly look into the other suggestions
