I'm pretty sure that this is my first time posting on this forum, although I've been lurking for a while and taking advantage of the good advice on offer.
I've just taken ownership of a lovely new Cadac Carri Chef Deluxe, and I'm totally overwhelmed at the prospect of getting gas for it. Patio gas has been recommended but, as it's propane, will that be suitable for tent camping? Also, I've absolutely no idea what kind of hoses/regulators will be required as, to date, I've only used single gas burners with 250g butane cannisters.
I'd really appreciate any advice that you could offer me.
No reason not to use propane with practically all the two-burners-and-grill type (gas!) camping stoves currently available. You will need a regulator suitable for whichever cylinder you intend using (butane or propane) - your gas supplier should be able to advise. Main difference between the two gases is the better low temperature performance of propane.
You'll find more information and advice on the "Gas" information sheet from the Camping and Caravanning Club website.
I use Calor Propane with my Cadac as its the most widely available and it runs perfectly. You will need a Calor Propane regulator which most camping shops sell for less than a tenner
