Maybe not such a good idea, if you used this appliance on full 1.5 kw for the large ring and 1kw for the small a 10amp ehu could trip out without having anything else plugged in.

If used sensibly in conjunction with your gas i see no problem, the 1kw could be used on its own on any ehu the 1.5kw on a 10amp and both on a 16amp.

We got the Induction Hob from Lidl back in June, it's a great piece of kit, and packs away into an old laptop bag I had, definate bargain at £24.99 with the Daily Mirror £5 of Lidl voucher that was around at the time, I tested the Amp/Current draw at the time, and you can still use it if only on 3amp EHU, as the Hob has 10 level setting, can't remember now but I think 8amp was it max when on level 10, the only downside is that you need the special Induction Hob pans, which can be expensive, although I noticed that TJ Hughes had the pans (Anthony Worrel brand) on offer from £5 upwards, a few weeks back.

We missed the Lidl induction hob but bout a Judge Ind hob from an Ebay seller. With respect to pans, just walk around you local Morrison's, Tesco with a magnet, if it sticks to the pan it will work on an induction hob

We've had a swan double hob for a while now and we've found that the "rings" hold their heat well(sometimes a little too well). So if you are on a site with a low ampage, you are able to switch the one "ring"  off,5/10min before the end of cooking. This allows the other to be swithed on...

(..ideal for fry-up pan on one ring, scrambled egg pan on the other..)

They do(well, ours' anyway)throw a lot of downard heat though..so we site ours' on this:

I bought a double hob from Aldi a few days ago. It smells a bit the first time that you use it so maybe 'burn it in' at home before using in caravan. I have only used one ring at a time so far with no probs (my socket is fused at 10amps). I think it will ideal for cooking in the awning in the summer, especially for curries!
