Hello all. I love reading these message forums and as I am brand spanking new to caravanning I am picking up some great tips!!!

However, I need a bit of help please. We have a 3 way fridge in our 1989 Viceroy. We have turned the "fridge" switch on but no light comes on at the main fuse box. We have changed the fuse but that hasn't made a difference either. The chap I bought the caravan from said it was working perfectly well last Friday!!! Any ideas please as what we might be doing wrong? The electricity is working fine by the way. It's just the fridge that seems to be on the blink!

There should be 2 switches, one red one for the 12 volt supply and a larger green one for the 240 volt supply. I presume that you are trying the green one with a 240 volt electric hook up cable connected to the caravan from the house or other source. Can you be a bit more specific?

For the fridge to work, caravan needs to be level, are trying to get it to run on mains 240v? it will it will take a long while to cool down. After an hour feel pipes in freezer bit. Should feel distinctly cold.

It will only run on 12v with 12s(grey cable)plugged into car with engine running, ie 12v is only for when towing.

The fridge in our previous caravan didn't have a light to show the mains was on , just a switch , with your caravan level leave it switched on for a few hours and then check to see if it has cooled down .

Hi again,

Thanks all for your help. We plugged the fridge back in and left in on overnight. It seems to be working fine today!
