Anybody know where I can get a sun canopy for a poly Biscaya 370? Just bought this new but now cant get the canopy for it and really disappointed. Maybe someone has one spare for sale???
Hi Greg.
That's quite a find, I still covet a "Polyester" 370 as I think it would be ideal for UK use, and I like the idea of it being the only Biscaya with a SiG.
As for the Sun-Canopy, that could be hard to find, as the "Polyester" 370 was only stocked by a small number of Cabanon dealers at the time.
Your best bet, is to pen a letter and send it snail-mail to the Cabanon factory in Dunkerque, it may take a while for you to get a response, but this way seems to have worked for others on here.
Did you get a good deal on the tent?, 2008 list was £1,040 then it jumped to £1,335 for the 2009 list price.
Thanks for the reply. I think I got a good price. It was a display model but had a good look over it and managed to get it for £450 (I think they have another one left!!)
I have had an email from Cabanon today pointing me to two UK dealers. One wasn't much help but the other is pestering them to make a batch of them as there is still a demand. Fingers crossed but not holding my breath...
Never had experience of a Cabanon before as only been camping a few years with a Vango but hoping it lives up to expectations....
It's the blue and grey polyester one. It was on display at my local camping shop. I went back to them to try and get the sun canopy but I'm still waiting for an answer but I noticed they were advertising another Biscaya 370 on the board. Sadly I didn't know they didn't make them any more as it was a bit of a spur of the moment thing.
I have been trying unsuccessfully to get a sun canopy for my biscaya 370 cotton. Andy suggested i write to cabanon but just not had time.Let me know if you find any anywhere.
Thats a shame Andy, I would have bitten your arm off for that....
It was a couple of weeks ago I went in there so it may well have gone now but if I'm there the weekend I'll have a look.
Oh, and I'll get a letter off this week and see what happens.
Greg
Hi Greg.
Yes that 370 Sun-Canopy was a lucky find, crazy thing is I was in Castlecroft camping store at Radcliffe, which is part of the JR Leuisure group, and I asked them if they had a 370 Tent, they said no we don't do Cabanon no more, but we do have a 370 Sun-Canopy, so I bought that for £50.
I must be one of the few people who bought the Sun-Canopy first, as it was a few months later when I bought the tent from Catterick caravans, it took Catterick caravans a further 3 months to get the matching Sun-Canopy for my new "Cotton" 370, not thier fault, as Cabanon were in the throws of receivership at the time, in fact I was doubtfull whether the "Cotton" Sun-Canopy would ever turn up.
But when it did, I no longer needed the "All Season Polyester" Sun-Canopy, in fact I never even got round to getting it out of it's bag.
I was going to keep it as a spare, but there was no point realy, there not much to go wrong with a Sun-Canopy, that can't be easaly fixed.
Well I have just had a call from Camping International. Sadly Cabanon have told them they have no stock left and no intention of making any so not sure a letter will do much good but may do it anyway when I have finished sulking.
On the plus side Andy, they still have a poly Biscaya in stock! although I was slightly mistaken on the price, I think it was £460 or £470 I paid, (after some haggling) but still not bad.
Hi Greg.
Below is a quote from Cabanons 2008 Tent catalogue.
"Cabanon is also able to offer an un-rivalled after sales service for lost or damaged poles and can supply components, or even complete frames, for Cabanon Tents, going back as far as the early 1970's"
Going of that a Sun-Canopy is not going to be a problem, in fact Jandstott on here got a Biscaya 320 c/w Sun-Canopy, last year from the Cabanon factory, and that model has been out of production since 2007
