Hi I now am in possesion of a washing machine drum with spindal still attached does anyone have a clue as too what I can use as a base I can put it in the ground to stabliize it but then there would be no ground protection.
My Father-in-law has one at his boat moorings. He has a piece of scaffolding tube set in concrete beneath it. Yhe tube is flush with the ground when the drum is removed. Not on grass. Put gravel, paving or similar around the bottom. You could put a piece of scaffolding pipe into a washing up bowl & fill with concrete to create a moveable base.
Go to the scrap yard & get a shelf from an oven or a fridge (chrome plated) to cover the top.
Can't remember which thread it was on now but the other day someone said they use a pizza baking tray on the top to stop sparks - presumably you could cook on that too.

we used the wheel that the belt runs around inside the washer if u turn it over so it looks like an umberella shape it will screw back on to the washer drum spindle and bingo u got your stand
