I have today bought a raclette grill from Lidl, £9.99 which I think is rather good value! Will use it on a morning for big quick fry ups and etc! Would love to see if anyone else has one... I need cooking ideas!!!

Still rather new to this camping lark!
Hi Janie, we have one also from Lidl, we love it. We use it at home rather than camping. Over the years we have (as I'm sure a lot of families do) sat in front of the tv to eat our evening meal as a result the only conversation centres around the tv. However, now we have the raclette we have a special night (usually Friday) were we all sit around the dining room table, listen to background music and chat, yes we have rediscovered the art of talking. We find that we tend not to eat as much also (another benefit).
For the meal we base it around the swiss raclette of boiled potatoes in their jackets (kept warm on a warming tray from Aldi), with peas, salad and pickled Gherkins onions with peppers and sliced dutch cheese for the bottom grill. On the top plate we have wafer thin beef (from Morrison's), diced chicken, pork and large prawns with mushrooms, plus a bread roll, brilliant.

we have one from lidl too, but we use ours for dinner parties usually, love the fact that we sit round and cook and natter, takes us a whole evening to have a meal, good for a laugh too!

Are they electric? Which store did you go to?
Just contacted their customer services as couldn't find one on their website. She tried 4 stores for me with no luck then she checked and told me they were on offer in stores around mid December and the offers come around every 6 months. I'll look again in June. Yes they are electric. I think we bought ours around December so that sounds about right. We do enjoy ours, great bit of kit for not a lot if I remember correctly. Although if you Google raclette grills there are some very expensive ones.

There was a fairly long thread the other day but I have a feeling the title of it wasn't very helpful....

WHAT DO THEY LOOK LIKE ?
Here is a selection from Amazon, ours looks like the Team Rac17 but we didn't pay anywhere near as much from Lidl.

We got one a few months ago after a raclette meal at a friends house. It is soooperb. You will have seen lots of recipe ideas on these threads, so just a couple of further ideas from me.
In the trays underneath, try sliced mushroom and garlic butter or whole mushroom and some crumbled stilton (funghi smelliecheesio) also try thin slices of haddock with lemon butter. You can even do garlic bread using a slice of french loaf, grill one side in the tray then turn over spread on garlic butter and pop it back under....deelish.
