i keep looking and looking, reading reviews and i am still no nearer. We are 2 adults and 2 teenagers and we camp without ehu throughout the year (stuff the cold ! ) and i want one of the 5 day ones so i dont have to think about food and shopping so much.
has anyone had any experience of any of these, and could advise me accordingly, please ?
We have an Igloo Maxcold and its really great, probably one of the best camping purchases I've made. But equally if you do a search on this forum you'll find plenty of threads with other people swearing by the Coleman or the Icey Tek so I really don't think there is much in it.
I would say go for whichever suits you best in terms of size and price - they all perform well.
we have a huge igloo box we got from Costco at a bargain price a few years ago and they are great if there are no electrics...other good ones are the ones you can plug in your car to go cool and then unplug and they are insulated to keep thing cold for a while after!! we have a mini WKD fridge that was won in a pub that also gets dragged along for the butter cheese and milk :)
I have an icy-tek. I bought it at the end of the camping season ready for when I camp without EHU. It's not been christened yet but if cooled in advance and packed with a couple of frozen litre bottles of water and some ice I have every confidence it will do the job I want it to do.
We've got an igloo maxcold on wheels, not used it yet, but like mantrachant, I'm confident it will do the job, I just need to remember to cool it the day before with frozen bottles of water!
