hi has any one tried white spirit in their duel fuel lamps or stoves as got a coleman of both and thinking of trying it/been useing unleaded and had to give the lamp generator a clean\
We have ten Coleman lamps in our Scout Group and once a year we use Coleman fuel as opposed to unleaded in the lamps to ensure that the generators remain clean. We were also advised never to store fuel in the lamps for any prolonged period of time.

White spirit won't work, its nowhere near the volatility or octane rating of petrol. Panel wipe (car degreaser before painting) from car factors is your cheapest option, and you don't have to inhale petrol additives (not good!)
Personally use an ex military Vapalux lamp - paraffin.
