I need some help please. Am planning on going camping for a couple of weeks in the summer and would like to buy a fridge (not coolbox) and EHU but have absolutely no idea where to look for them, what to buy and approximately how much everything will cost.
Hi, Debs, I'm sure you'll get loads of response to this question but I thought I'd get my two-pennorth in first!
We bought a fridge in Tescos for £40-something which was very good, not too big but with a bit of careful planning I got quite a lot in it. It had a 12volt lead as well so you could keep stuff cold in the car on the journey. It could also be used warm so you could collect your take-aways in it too! They'll probably be back in the shops in the spring.
The hook-ups seem to go from about £50 upwards - we paid £109 this year when ours packed up when we got to the site and there was only one camping shop for miles. It's worth having a shop around - but do only buy the proper one designed for the job if you don't know what you're looking at.
Hi loads of threads re; EHU and fridges dont want to go down the EHU road again belive me it can be very painfull just when you think uve got it sussed, along comes another horror storie, so my advise is to go for one with everything on it RCD waterproof cover ect ect.
------------- Lifes all the better when you get old!!!!!!!
This is the latest thread relating to fridges and scary EHU stories. It has a picture of the Combicool on page 3 I think! Not sure why its under tents.
We have a combicool and think that its a great bit of kit! 240v to get it cold ready to fill and set off, 12v means you can keep it cool on route and if you dont have or want hookup it runs off gas on arrival.
Fits enough beer, baileys, meat etc for 4 adults and 3 kids for a weekend!!!!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
