Hi All,

We sold our lovely Adria caravan yesterday to a nice family so although I was  we are also  its gone to a good home.

I'm now looking at roof boxes from www.roofbox.co.uk and they have a package deal on the KAMEI Husky with Cruz bars for what looks to be a good price but in the bargin pages they also have amazing prices on returnable KAMEI Corvara roof boxes.  I've just had an instant chat session with one of the sales team at www.roofbox.co.uk & was told KAMEI are the best on the market but he swayed me away from the bargins & I'm wondering if this is because the Corvara roofbox are not as good quality/security, or is it just that they see more £££ in a package deal?

We want something that will be quick to fix to the car & secure.  It's mainly for hubby & I although we hope the family will grow so intent to get a decent size.

Can anyone advise whether its worth going for a package deal over the bargins?

Many thanks

Mrs MacP

Hi Mrs MacP,

We did just the opposite -- we got the Roofbox Co bargain Atera roofbars (marked down from 80-ish to 60-ish) and then got an older Kamei Delphin from ebay. I thought we did really well, since it's a significant outlay for the whole set.

Is the Corvara not more expensive than the Husky box? I would have thought the sales agent was just trying to save you money? I had to contact Roofbox Co about the roof bars and they were pure gold -- really helpful.

I do highly recommend the Kamei boxes. Even our older model Delphin is amazing -- we can really cram it all in and as long as the two locks go in we don't worry about it again. I'd get the Corvara if that's the one you like the sound of best!

We have a Kamei Corvara roofbox in black to match the car.  We think it's a great roofbox and is very easy to fit to the car.  You can open it up from both sides which makes packing it very easy.

I also have the Kamei Corvara roof box (in the dark metalic grey) and its a brilliant box. Fits quickly and easily, very secure, opens both sides so great for packing / un-packing. Very nice build quality but expensive if bought new (as I did).

I have the whisper bars from the company you originally linked to, mainly because I leave them on the car all the time. They dont effect fuel economy or create any wind noise - very good.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Jon.
