i know im opening a can of worms by starting a post about cobb vs cadac lol
but i think im 90% sure i am going to go with the cobb as i prefere proper bbqs to gas one but how much can you cook on either as im a family of four and oh daughter and bf is coming this year to so the question is which can cook for more on ??

We have both but started out with the Cadac which we found for a family of 5 to be an excellent investment, cooked allsorts on it. Then last year I bought the Cobb and tbh we prefer that now so much so that we've decided to leave the Cadac at home in favour of taking the Cobb. However I'm not confident that it would be good for cooking for 7. We used our Cadac last year and managed to cook for 7 adults and 5 kids on it but I know now that we'd not have been able to do it with the Cobb. Now that 2 of our kids aren't wanting to come camping anymore the Cobb will be perfect for us.

Imo the cobb is too small to cook for 6 people unless you are happy to do seperate sittings. we have gone with the cadac and would never go back to the cobb now

I have a family of 4 and had similar thoughts last year when I was deliberating between a Cobb & Cadac. Decided to go with the Cobb in the end and absolutely love it.
We used it in France last year and when some friends descended on us managed to cook a joint of meat enough for 7 on it (admittedly 3 of these were kids aged between 3 -7) but even so there was plenty to go round. We did use our small gas cooker alongside it though - for veg etc - but put the potatoes in the moat.
It does have quite a small cooking area for general barbecuing purposes so you would need to do it in several batches so I guess if you are just looking to use it purely for this then the Cobb might not be the best option. But if you want something a bit more versatile & portable then go for the Cobb.
However, I bought a Cadac Safari Chef a couple of years ago when I read that it is common for French campsites to ban the use of charcoal BBQs in dry weather.
Also, my preferred methods of cooking are pan-frying and stir-frying, and the Cadac's heat supply is more readily available and easier to control, IMHO.

It depends on what you want to cook when camping. I debated for a long time and decided on the Cadac, which will do pretty much everything the Cobb will - though I've yet to try cakes!
The Cadac is better for grilling and quick cooking and has a larger cooking area.
