My very nice dad has given us a 7kg calor gas bottle and a 28m bar (I think - its in the garage) regulator to use with our camping chef. However my OH is saying that the 28m bar is not enough and it needs to be at least 31m bar - is that right? Does it make that much of a difference? I dont want to go off on our first trip and not be able to cook - being taken out for 3 meals a day would be such a hardship ;o)
If it's a 7kg cylinder it will be blue (to indicate it contains butane - the same gas as in Campingaz cylinders) and the regulator should, I think, be like the one at the top of this page.
The stove, like most similar ones currently in production, is designed to use butane at 28mb, so you should have no problems.
(It could also be used with propane at a higher pressure, but a different regulator would be needed.)

Caravans built since 2004 usually have a "bulkhead" regulator semi-permanently fitted, which, with appropriate connections ("pigtails") will accept butane and propane and regulate both to 30mb.
