This will probably sound like a really stupid question to seasoned campers - this is only our second season so please excuse us!  We've recently bought the king poles so we can use them with our Vango Icarus 500 to make the door into a canopy but can't see how they should fit and no instructions with them.

Help!  Thanks in anticipation.

Little spiky bit at top of pole goes through the eyelets at the bottom of the door along with a loop at the end of the guyline which you then peg out to hold the king pole up. Hope that makes sense?

This may sound a stupid question, however, does the door comes with a brass eyelet in each corner?

If yes, then hook the long spike of the king pole into the eyelet, spike the ground with the short spike, and secure the pole using a guy rope by looping the loop over the long spike.

This way, the loop of the guy rope holds down the canopy.

I still smile whenever I see peeps securing the poles first then hook the canopy over the loop of the guys, and their faces when the wind blows it off the poles.

These replies are great, thanks but one thing we also forgot to mention: we struggled with how to stop the door loops sliding down the poles.  Any thoughts?

The king poles come with 2 plastic washer-type objects - where are these supposed to go?  We tried using them on the top of the poles to stop the loops sliding down but it looked stupid so don't think that's what they're for!

That is how they are designed to be used - to create a larger surface area to prevent the loops from sliding down.
