Hi we had a witter towbar fitted to our Zafira in 2006, you twist it and it pulls out, and fitted with car electrics was £ 316.07 inc vat. Worth it as it has saved me shins being bashed when loading and unloading car.

I would check with the manufacturer re fitting a towbar to the VXR. I had the Gsi and the manufacturer did not recommend a towbar being fitted with it having sport suspension. Just a thought.
We had an ST24 with lowered suspension, had a towbar fitted but required spring assistors for towing heavy loads. An option to consider if the car sits quite low as standard. The suspension may be low on the VXR but you'll find sports suspension is a lot harder than stock and has far less give in it.
