We are top boxed and trailered up. Got a tow hitch bike carrier but it only takes 3 bikes and there are 4 of us. Any suggestions on how to get a quart out of this pint pot? I've thought about fitting 'roof bars' to my Erde 142 (with 30cm canvas cover) can you get such a thing? or perhaps one of the long, thin top boxes and put one of the bikes up top.
They do make Erde load bars here So you can fit roofrack type bike carrier. Expensive tho. I have seen the extra bike laid flat on canvas topped trailer & held with ratchet straps.
Not sure if you've solved your problem, but we've just bought a bike carrier called a maxxraxx, holds 4 bikes. Bracket fits behind the tow bar so you call still tow the trailer. Depends on how long your trailer bar is, we just have to take the front wheel off the last bike on the rack so the trailer has full turning ability. The wheel then just fits under the cargo net on the trailer. It was expensive, £140, but we have so much use out of it.
