Well, my new camp oven arrived yesterday, I got it from ebay (HERE) & although the listed price is £44.99 I made a ridiculous offer & got it accepted!
Naturally thinking it would be rubbish I still thought it was worth a punt at £25. & although slightly shop-soiled (few tiny dents in the lid, nothing really) it turned up in very good time & good condition, brand new, in box, with full instructions & even some recipe ideas.
I took it over my sister-in-law's, where she immediately made some cake batter & got the silicone cup-cake moulds out.
So, into the garage we went, took the cover off their trailer tent kitchen & fired it up. Here are the results;
& here's a pic showing the oven parts as well;
The only thing I would say is that it doesn't brown stuff very well, but the book says, once you get used to it, you can bake with the lid off. We found if we baked with the lid slightly askew it had better results.
It's worth mentioning that the instructions are very good & need following to the letter. You need to turn it down AS SOON as it tells you to, & once warm it takes a ridiculously small flame to keep it baking, I'm actually thinking my Coleman stove may not go down low enough! Si it uses hardly any fuel!
I've never used a Cobb or Cadac, & I'm sorry but I think they are both very over-priced for what they are.
This little oven may not hold as much but it is a fantastic addition to any camper's kitchen.
I give it a definite thumbs up & my sister-in-law, who is quite hard to please & thought it wouldn't work, immediately went indoors & ordered one of her own.
Great little piece of kit! Now I can finally have lasagne whilst camping!

My offer of £25 was accepted, & so was mt sister-in-law's, but I can't guarantee they will keep accepting such low offers. Mind you, you get 3 chances with the "Best Offer" system on ebay.
Just thought, Cottage Pie
& Pizza! Mmmmmmm, tasty.

blonde moment!! I can see from your pics..... Think I will be investing in one too..... My boys will love having camping pizza
Thanks too for the tip off on the low offer!! x
I would love to know how you all get on with these, those who have taken the plunge.
Any useful tips you work out, or any problems you may have. Will be interested to hear all your feedback.
My top tip would be to try baking with the lid slightly askew. This should help to brown stuff a bit better.
I've still yet to actually try it out on my own stove. Just hope I can turn the petrol coleman down low enough. Otherwise I'll be buying myself a single burner gas stove.
LOL just bought one too! 25 quid well worth it and it provides another form of entertainment for us as we can cook something different from tinned food (which I like anyway!)

is it not just a deep pan with a lid ???
No, there's a bit more to it than that.
The pan & lid are effectively "inside" the actual oven.
I will take a pic of the diagram in the instruction book & post it later.
It's still a simple idea, like a Cobb & Cadac are simple ideas, this just doesn't cost the earth & packs down to virtually nothing in comparison.
It also has a thermometer in the lid, so is controllable.
Admittedly it won't be for everyone, & some may take time to get the knack of using it, it also won't hold quite as much as a Cadac or Cobb, but is plenty for 2 people & still very usable for a family.
You're protected under distance selling laws anyway, so if anyone thinks they've made a mistake in buying one, just return it within 7 days & get your money back (minus postage).
Just wondered how all of you who brought one of these are getting on with them....
I didn't buy one in the end but am still sooo tempted - which doesn't take much... lol
