Hello again,

We're brand new to camping and trying to get together all the stuff we need. I think we're almost there but we need a electrical hook up in the tent (I have sleep apnoea and need a sleep machine through the night)

Anyway, we only need 1 socket and only at night. We have a caravan ehu from our old caravan and while looking for a good priced tent EHU I came across the Kampa UK socket conversion lead - it's from a reputable seller (campingworld.co.uk) but the info they give is sketchy.

Does anyone know if this would be used with a caravan EHU to provide a single socket in our tent?

I'm not sure how to provide a link but hopefully you can see it here: http://www.campingworld.co.uk/Models.aspx?ModelID=4810

Thanks

Kelly

Would work but you've no RCD/breaker and would be relying on the one from the site hookup. I'd prefer to play it safe and buy a fit for purpose EHU. SOme ones on offer at various places at the moment for around £40.

See following thread for me info:

Thanks for replying so quickly.

I know there are no short cuts when it comes to electricity but we have a circuit breaker that we use with the lawnmower - because I'm horrifically clumsy and a sharp blade and a trailing cord is an accident waiting for me to happen! - so, just out of interest, would this make the EHU/Kampa socket combination any safer?

Thanks again,

Kelly
