I am finding that blankets are quite thin and not really large enough to cover us fully, does anyone know where I can get some large thick ones?

Thanks!

make one!

I had loads of small fleeces that were pretty useless

chopped them all up, stitched them back together and have a huge double thickness reversible one now

had enough to cover the bolster and floor cushion as well

First post this year, can't believe no camping as yet but weather has been bleurghhh.

If you have a Costco card they have great fleeces, cost less than a tenner and are much thicker than the normal ones. I'm off on a hunt at the moment - if I see soething elsewhere I'll come back and post.

Dunelm Mill had some large thick fleece blankets for £11.99 but reduced to £7.99 if you have a store near you? I got some lovely chocolate brown ones for camping

I got some at Aldi and they are very good and large. They are described as fleece blankets. Also Home and Bargain and BJ's also stock them from time to time. measure your's and think how much larger you want them, then check the measurements on the ones for sale.

will be watching this thread closely as we could do with a couple of thick fleecy blankets for our new camping chairs...love the look of the royal blue ones at Dunelm Mill as colour-wise they'd be perfect, but they're out of stock...boo...!!...i'm willing them to get more in stock in the next week or so, but i'm not going to hold my breath...

The Aldi ones are very thick and a really good size. I have tried the ones from cheap shops and there really is no comparison. I got 2 a couple of weeks back in a bright pink and bright yellow!! A bit bright but reduced to 2.99 each so I wasn't going to be too fussy lol.

I find those cheap envelope sleeping bags are good, you can use them opened out as a blanket or zipped up as a sleeping bag liner.

dunelm usually do the bigger ones - 200cm x 140cm

but still too small to cover a double bed properly

these look good! 230cm x 254cm

ok so I went all around today looking and I found that Home bargains, BM, Buyology all have nice thick ones and if you go for a 'Throw' they are large. Roughly under £10.

However I did find cheap snuggle blankets (fleece blankets with arms) which I am going to stitch together for the children so they can kind of use them as fleece liners (cos my kids kept wriggling out their bags and like their arms free)! Bargain at 2.99!

Plus I got a 15 tog kingsize duvet for £12.99 to put on top the SIMS!
