I'd echo the comments about the top one.
Works every time and very quickly.

Before I saw and bought a proper one of these I used a 'tomato slicer' thingy picked up at a car boot sale for a few pence. Worked ok, but not as good as the real deal.

I never had any luck at all with the pyramid style ones.
