I really appreciate all the help I've been getting in this forum.
We just had a trial run with the new Hi-gear elite stove and 3.9kg calor propane bottle in the back garden today, and it all seems to work ok. Have a couple of questions about the best way to use it "in the field".
1/ While you actually are on a camping trip do you leaving the bottle and stove connected or do you disconnect after each use?
2/ If you do keep it connected, do you still need to do the leak test (with soapy water) before each use or only each time you reconnect?
3/ If you use the stove for breakfast, and then go out for the day, do you move everything inside the tent including the gas bottle (after waiting for it to cool down)? Or do people leave it outside?
just turn the gas off at the bottle valve , i wouldn't bother disconnecting all the time , as there's more chance of a leak ,, keep an eye on the condition of the hose , cracking etc , as it will deteriorate over a period of time , then replace as nec', a leak is usually quite noticeable by the smell , or a hissing noise ,, in the unfortunate event of a flame , turn the valve off , if safe to do so ,, they wont blow up , that's only in films ,,,, someone may know different ,,
