I recently bought a 1998 Bailey Ranger and hooked up on site. On my Electrolux rm 4230 i can get gas but no switch lights come on for 12v. and 240v. It cooled on Gas but not when on elec. Fuses in the box all ok and nothing tripped. What's going on? Is there a gremlin at work? Didn't have any problem with other electrical items.

Terry

The fridge always gets colder when operating on gas than it does on electric or 12 volt. In other words you need a lower setting on the thermostat for gas but higher for electric. There is no thermostat control for 12 volt operation when running from the towcar. Regarding the lights on the unit, sometimes the red slim one (12 v) doesn't always illuminate as mine doesn't but the wider green switch (240 v) should so it's probably just the switch that not illuminating. Try the thermostat settings first and if that works try replacing the switch. Hope this information helps.

Hi jeff

on the ranger 1998 I think I have a zig either 1000 or 1250 powermaster PCU with 3 black switches on top - the l/h one charging, centre one is for water heater and r/h one is for pump but the charging one doesn't say car or van on it.
I'll have to check next time i go up to the van thanks for the tip though
Pontylad
