We bought one from the caravan show in February and it was delivered to us at Easter. Very impressed with the appearance and the quality. The first time we used the awning it took 4 of us 3 hours to sort all the poles and erect it. The instructions were not the best. Next time was a lot better as we colour coded all the poles. There are a lot of posts on Caravan Talk regarding this awning and Bradcot also participate and reply to any concerns or questions. We were looking to replace our Dorema Porch awning and looked at all the manufacturers but as soon as we saw the Modus, I wanted one and have not regretted our purchase. There were a few teething problems with the first batch dispatched by Bradcot in that a few incorrect poles were sent in error. Bradcot contaced us to inform us of the error and sent the correct poles.
just purhased a modus from glossop.....make sure that everything is supplied that u paid for as they packed a 1/2 metre extn instead of a 1 metre extension and only 4 adjustable ladder ties.....had a 1 1/2 drive to replace the parts......after the first attempt it took me and my wife about 1 hour to put up inc pegging down....quite a good awning...excellent material
purchased base and 1m rh extension......excellent material....be ultra careful when hooking the easy assembly pole to the plastic connection if u dont you will scratch the van.....seems to be a problem with a pool of water forming on the roof as its quite hard to get a tight tension on the roof...no guy ropes,,,yipee...overall v good
After having a good look at awnings over the weekend i am really taken by the Bradcot Modus and its ability to be flexible over its size.
I googled this model and found a few negative reviews which seemed to be on the earlier models as the dip in the roof problem caused by heavy rain seems to have been resolved now with an additional pole on the centre section.
There must be good reviews out there also as they still sell very well so does anyone have one?
We ordered one from the caravan show before they were on sale at caravan dealers and had one of the 1st ones to be dispatched from Bradcot. We were very impressed with the quality and the flexibility and also the appearance. We had no problems with water on the roof but found the erecting instructions very poor and a nightmare to erect. Ours was delivered to us on site because we were away when delivery was going o take place and luckily 2 fellow caravanners came to help but it still took 4 of us nearly 3 hrs to fathom out how to erect it.We ignored the instructions in the finish. We ended up numbering all the poles. If the manufacturers did this it would be very helpful. I really like the awning but my husband hates all awnings
After ordering the Bradcot awning we were told this week that it wouldnt be here until the last week in March ...not prepared to wait that long we have now gone for an Isabella 420 all in one that will be here early next week! In anticipation that perhaps we may just do a spot of winter caravanning at the end of the year the 420 i believe is one of the best ones for the job.
Sounds good. I have seen 1 or 2 Isabella awnings that I like but based on how little we use the awning we will not bother with another one yet. Had a Dorema Toronto porch awninh before the Bradcot Modus which was ok. I must say I like the systems on these light weight awnings where the poles are all liked together although the look and quality are not as good.
