Am wondering what is the least equipment i cna get away with for this year .Knowing i will end up buying more over the winter as my bank manger allows me to .
There are 5 of us myself and 4 children 2 being teens and i use a wheelchair hence need EHU
and shall apologise for all my questions all over the board.

Decent sleeping bags.( last time good few years ago brought cheap and we was cold so put us of )
When you say 'short camp' how short is it? We use cool box with ice packs on top for cheese, milk, butter etc if we're just going for a couple of days.
Hiyas have you thought of using quilts from home 1st ...save on the expence of sleeping bags...we bought sleeping bags & didn't like them , so now take our quilts & vac pack them.. Also you can use all cooking stuff from home ...pans pots etc. We use a basic tesco kettle & toaster these do a great job. Sure lots more ideas will appear.
get the tesco or asda basics range of Toaster, Kettle, and heater at most £6 each. use ufo lights in tent very bright and last a long time even though use batteries. Asda have sale on at the moment of camping gear so tables, folding chairs etc all at really good prices.

You really don't need to buy too much. You can use what you already have. Knives, forks, plates cups, pots and pans, washing up bowl, pillows, bedding. The only stuff you might need are beds and chairs and a table. Even then the kids might think it fun to eat sitting on the floor. At least for the first time. After that the sky is the limit. Some people on here take more stuff than I have in my house. It all depends on what level of comfort you want when camping. A fridge isn't really a necessity unless we have an enormous heat wave when you are away. Even then the milk may go off but the cheese will be fine. We have an electric coolbox now, but we have used a regular one with ice, but back then we were camping in 40c degree places.
You don't want to spend too much at first you might not like it.Nah!!! that isn't possible The important thing is for you all to have fun and if you forget something, try to remember it the next time.
friend of mine recently put a wanted post on her local free cycle and a kind couple who tried camping but hated it replied to her offer and she got ,a kettle,pots and pans ,a box of kitchen utensils ,2 camping beds an EHU a porta loo and a toilet tent all just used once ,she was well chuffed and it saved her a bit of money.
We use a griddle plate like that which is great for meat but we also use a twin electric hob, from argos it was around 15 pouns, but its geat for heating up, beans, soup, making chilli etc. We take a eletric fan heater for use at night, just a cheap one from argos (just remember you wont be able to use a lot of other electric item while using your fan heater) we use ufo lights, u can get these from wilkinsons. If you have a aldi near you, check them out as they tend to have camping stuff in at good prices.
We use a coleman confort air bed, its a great double air bed as its twin chamber so when hubby moves i dont get thrown in the air! The kiddies use sims, and under all beds we put a picnic rug the a fleece blanket ontop of the air bed then the sheet then sleeping bag and we are always lovely and warm!

You need some layers for your airbed, foam mats, picnic blankets or a large opened out cardboard box for under the airbed for insulation from the ground.
