we have a camping gas stove , nearly 20 years old now but never let us down. we are thinking of getting a new stove and have lookrd at the gelert compact stove. we have seen good and bad reports. so we are in 2 minds weather to buy a camping gas stove or a gelert. any reveiws from people who have used both would be really useful

Why do you need to replace it? My campinggaz grillogaz is about 25 years old and still going strong, there is no way I would buy a new one. I have replaced the hose and it's like new :)

I'd wager a Coleman 424 would last that long
A new gas stove won't.
A Coleman 424 would. But a 424 is not gas..........
I am a champion of the Coleman Dual Fuel stoves.......

the only reason i was thinking of replacing the stove was for storage and transporting reasons . the old gas stove i have is very big and bulky but still works brilliantly. but we struggle to get all our gear in our car and trailer so we were looking at ways to reduce our load
I wouldn't replace it .. I replaced my old stove as I'd cleaned it with some power spray and the paint came off - apart from that nothing was wrong with it, anyway decided to get a camping gaz chef - hated it - after two holidays using it I threw it out and got myself a cooker very much like my old one .. and I love it.
