Has anyone refilled a coleman or cadac 500 g canister from a propane bottle ?
If so, can you tell me the exact adaptors / hoses that you've used and where they were obtained.

Thanks
Allen

Don't think they are refillable. The 465g Coleman one's are but use a different connector and bottle.

I've seen lots of stuff online about refilling the 1 lb Coleman Propane tanks, but these are a very different thing to the cannisters you are talking about. Attempting to refill any cannister has got bad news written all over it (potentially).

If you want to run your appliances more cheaply then I would suggest one of these-

Adapter

I got one from that seller and the delivery was quick and the item is very high quality. This adapter will allow you to use these cannisters-

Gas

They work out at around £1 for 227g, so around £2 for an equivalent amount of gas from regular cannisters.

It also works out at around £4 per kg, which is on a par with Calor prices!! You also don't have to lug around a chuffing huge tank, but only the amount of small cannisters you need. Any there's no danger from refilling.

I reckon it is a win at all levels. It works for me anyway

I have just received the above adaptor, but cannot get it to fit on to my CADAC mini chef. The thread looks the same as on the EN417 cartridge, but the adaptor will not screw on.

Did yours fit straight away, Reggiewac or did it need some sort of adaption ?

I'd be interested in this post as I've just bought a mini chef as well, and am looking at gas options.
