Hi guys, hope someone can help, as we are still very "green".

We currently have a Quest Sandringham Awning (size 16) with steel poles (Caravan shop said they wouldn't sell us this size awning with fibre/alloy poles?), anyway, awning was bought with caravan new at the end of May last year.

Whilst on our hols in August, we experienced a problem with the leg poles, they wouldn't stay up and as a result the front of the awning would be flapping in the wind, and in order to "quick fix" it we ended up duct taping them together.

So we've come home and noticed that our guarantee is only for 12 months and we are anticipating that Quest will not honour the guarantee, which has led us to rethink and basically would like to change our awning. However, we cannot afford to replace the whole awning (would like a Bradcot, Isabella, NR or similar) so we were wondering if we could just replace the frame for one made by one of these companies?

Are all the frames basically the same?

Many thanks for reading and many more for any input.

Ali

sometimes you find on ebay or simular places that people are selling a awning that has damage to the canvas, you might find your make and size this way, could be cheaper than a new awning,
you could try looking at caravan breakers who deal in insurance damage to caravans/awnings, again well worth a try.
Have you tried your awning maker to see if they will sort your frame out if it has a problem could be just a small item rather than a new awning.

Thank you for responding.

We have not contacted the supplier yet, our caravan has to go in to the dealer for some warranty work and we are going to speak to them when we take it in to see if they would do anything.
We are anticipating being told no as its out of guarantee, which is where we thought about buying a better quality frame as we noticed you can buy a NR Awning frame (in Fiberglass) for about £250 for the size we need, but didn't know if our canvas would fit the frame (it looks the same to us).

Have looked on Ebay but there aren't many in our size, in the colour we would like, but will keep trawling.

Thanks again
