i have a compass 540 corona it has a spare wheel underneath and an article in the caravan club mag said that the spare wheel is a steel wheel and the one on the van is alloy can anybody throw any light on this,thanks.

The spare wheel normally is steel, you do need to check that your alloy wheel bolts are also suitable for your steel spare. Some are, some arn't. You may well have a set of bolts provided for the steel spare.
