Again NO the large canopy will not fit the Icarus 600
------------- Experience enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
I dont have a Vango, but years ago we had a similar situation with a Suncamp tent. For a canopy to go over a side door of the tent you need four hoops and the door to be in the middle. When the canopy flap throws over the tent it needs to run between two hoops to locate well, and to have a tent side left, and right of those hoops to sit against. Have a look at the Vango Icarus 600 and then at the Icarus 600 DLX..
A Vango large canopy with two poles or the Vango standard canopy with one pole are designed to go over the sloping front door of a tent. It fits over the porch/front pole with an elasticated guy rope and is pegged either side of the tent.
For the side door you need the Vango tunnel canopy in which the guy ropes go right over the tent and are pegged on the opposite side.
All the vango canopies are pretty universal. However, some tents are extra wide at the front and require the vango wide canopy.
The wide canopy was designed to attach to the 4.45m wide Vango Columbia 600 or Sungari 600. I haven't checked the Icarus 600's width but the wide canopies are now as rare as hen's teeth and the last one I saw went for over £100 on ebay second hand. I think the dedicated canopy goes for less.
------------- Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!
With our vango large canopy I made ajustable straps for the bottom and it now fits two different tents. The only thing you have to watch out for is the height as when you make it wider it also brings the height down a bit but not a lot, get the tape measure out and give it a try.
