hi , i have a full size bradcott awning, i have only been caravaning twice and it takes me and the wife about an hour and half to put up!!! hopefully a bit quicker now i have marked all the poles!
im looking for a quick set up one for 1 or 2 night stays, the ones with the fibre poles ect, 4m wide, something like this...

quickest I have seen anyone put awning up,was caravanstore zip,took them about 20 mins,sim to our privy room zip,that takes us about 20 mins.

..and if it's only really for 1-2 night stop-overs,could you "make do" with a smaller porch type awning...?
it would probably be a minimum size for us, 2 kids with bikes, large dog cage, and we like to set a table and chairs up in there!
there is a stockist within a 5min drive of me, so ill pop in there, .

Starcamp do nice simple porch awnings which take about 15-20 mins to put up. We have one which we use if going away just for a few days. Then we have a compactalite porch awning which takes much longer to erect, maybe as long as a full awning!! We had a full awning and found it was too much weight and space to carry and gave us more room that we needed from an awning so converted to a porch. So our change had nothing to do with ease of erection. The Porch awnings take up so much less space in the car. Are you approaching this from the wrong angle?
When away in the caravan forget the length of time it takes to erect the awning...you are on holiday so have all the time in the world anyway. Think about what kind of awning you actually need for your holidaying requirements. Get a Porch awning, which can go up in next to no time, and then maybe find you have no where for the bikes, fihing rods, chairs, kids rubbish etc and you find that you miss the full awning despite how long it took to erect.
As I say, maybe just look at the problem from a different angle

hi phil, i know what you mean, the awning we have is a 1050, took about an hour and half to put up, but now i have tape co-ordinated all the tubes, maybe 50 mins???
im being lazy, wanting a quick set-up for short visits, say if its raining, bad weather , ect.
forums are a god -send as you can get the experiences of other people, so after xmas i will start looking for my ideal awning, quick, light, and spacious, thanks for your suggestions.
Starcamp 390 takes me about 15-20 mins to set up on my own whilst the little lady sorts out the inside of the van. You can get smaller ones. This model has four collapsable poles to slide into the roof and they run from roof of caravan to the ground.
Compactalite take around 50 minutes (ish) and we really need to do it together. Again, you can get a smaller version. This has four collapsable poles from the roof of the van to edge of roof of awning and they slot into aluminum ploes on the outside of the awning. Trickiest part is getting the internal poles fitted into place. May take a bit longer than the starcamp but its a much better looking awning, Better materials and finish. If you go for the compactalite don't bother with the optional extra roof poles and back poles for holding the awning to the side of the van. We did and found that they were more trouble then they were worth. The roof poles in particular which always resulted in the roof slightly sagging to create ponding and so pulls the roof down and could strain the awning rail. The water runs off much better without those poles and it looks just as good.
Both work well as awnings and keep the water out. The Starcamp is lighter and takes up just slightly less room in the car. When our son comes with us, because of the extra room we need in the car for packing for three, the starcamp gives us that extra space.
Compactalite weighs in at around 26.4Kg with rock pegs and the Star camp at 19.2Kg with pegs

I've got a Suncamp quick erect porch and the large version complete with new unused inner bedroom tent. The 390 I think. They are in dark blue and grey.
I may be looking to sell them, as I don't ever use them. I'm having a massive clearout of awnings! Lol.
Got far too many.
Also got an Apache Madrid porch with annex and inner tent (never used) and the Apache full awning to match it. Again blue/grey.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
