Hello guys....not been here for a while but its good to be back.
my question is......
I have 750cm Isabella awning and a caravan that takes a 900cm awning and was wondering how easy would it be to convert the full awning to a porch...Im worried bout the bit I will have to cut to drop from the awning rail to the ground..how do I prevent it tearing
It is very easy, you need a pole and buffer for the side that hangs down to secure it to the caravan wall and a caravan dealer can supply these. Then as you say you need to cut the tape at the right spot, so measure the height of your carvan at the point whete the side of the awning will fall and measure up from the bottom of the mud wall along the tape and make a mark, check you got the right end then with sharp scissors cut the tape ( just the bit that has the tube inside) . It does not pose a problem of tearing, I used a combi 680 porch for many years in all sorts of weather and storms and you ave to use this mthod on those. Once cut therevwas never ever anynthreat that the tape would tear any more.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
