I have been lucky enough to unintentionally win a Mobicool B40 hybrid cooler which I do not really need. You can see its specification and typical internet price at the link below although I have seen them advertised as much as £250.
This is brand new, unused and still in its shrinkwrap and only arrived last Monday.
I would like to sell this for £150. Cash only - no offers please - if I cannot get £150, I will just keep it for BBQs/parties etc.
If you are interested, please email john(at)happyhiker.co.uk with a contact number. Replace the (at) with at

Did I read the spec, correctly, that it only works as a cooler when on 12v, for proper fridge /freezer use it has to run of mains only?.
I thought so, can't see the point, surley you are better of with a Fridge that will run of 12/24v and or mains 240v ac.
Even if you have to use a mains to 12/24v adapter.
Not sure what Waeco were thinking of when the came up with the Mobicool.
We have a Waeco CF25, it's a pukka 12/24 Compressor Fridge/Freezer and works a treat, and is fine when EHU, is available using the Waeco mains 240v ac to 24v adapter.
I am a bit of a fridge novice, but was about to invest in a Mobicool B40. Am I missing something re the spec? So it works as a cooler when in the car, and then when at the campsite on ehu acts as a compressor fridge able to go down to minus 15 degrees regardless of ambient temp.
That would suit me, so what is the issue with the spec, am I missing something and does anyone else have any suggestions?
I am confused also, it makes sense to me. Its a mains fridge with a 12v back up thermo electric cooler so when you transfer it in the car things stay cool. Surely the 12v proper fridges you a lot of power and would drain a battery really quickly. I like the idea of having 12v backup if the power trips or whilst in the car. I bet you can also switch off the 240v at night for some peace from the compressor and run it on the 12v. Am I missing something - seems a good solution to me.
12v is ok in car with engine running. The more expensive compressor fridges run on 12v & mains from either a built in or separate 230/12v transformer. This one is only a coolbox on 12v so will not remain as cold in hot weather. Running on 12v cooler would probably be noisier than on mains compressor I would think, so no point if you are on ehu.
But surely for the price it is a good compromise. All the other compressor fridges seem to be a lot dearer. Surely even if it is only a coolbox in the car it will keep a few drinks and dinner cold enough until you reach the campsite and are on ehu.
Yes, its reasonably priced provided the buyer knows exactly what they getting. It is a proper compressor fridge while used on ehu so should better for very hot weather, Spain etc than a 3 way fridge. In car it is just a 12v cooler so will only cool about 18degC below in car temp.
Unlike a 3way fridge it cannot be run on gas so user would need ehu on their pitch.
