I know that it may seem a stupid question but I wonder if anyone has one of these new flat screen TVs and if so do they survive the bumps in a motor caravan life?
I've taken a lap-top computer (same type of screen) several times in a touring caravan and it's been OK - I did make sure it was wrapped up in the bedding, but no problems. I've carried normal TV's even more times, and I would think those are just as (if not more) fragile. I would suppose that as TV's and such are transported from factories to shops with less protection, there should be no problem!

The short answer is Yes. Flat screens are solid state devices unlike the tube type TV's that have a large vacuum tupbe with a relatively fragile neck surrounded by coils of wire and the hardware to hold it in place. A nasty bump and the tube coils can be displaced or worse still the tube broken..
The only down side of flat screen TV's is the relatively narrower angle of vision for best picture viewing and the fact that the front is softish plastic coated. Taking normal precautions like wrapping the TV in bubble wrap for transportation and stowing it low down in the van so it doesn't get thrown about still apply. Oh and DO be careful and follow the manufacturers instructions about cleaning the screen.
