Ok, we use a coleman fold n go cooker. Im sick to the back teeth of trying to hunt for the little bottles and I genuinely feel bad throwing them away as I feel its very wasteful.
The gas it runs on is Propane, but I've got a Calor 4.5KG Butane cylinder and Im wondering if anyone knows if I'd be able to get some kind of adapter that would allow me to use the butane on the stove, or is it not worth the bother? Im not happy at the cost of 2 of these little canisters and they dont last as long as I'd like, so its either I find a solution or its going on small ads and im buying a new stove that I can use with my bottle.
Anyone got any advice they could share. I'd be ever so grateful.

Cool campers use Delta Pegs.

Butane and Propane operate at different pressures so all you would have to is change the regulator over from a Red one to a Blue one but what you have to consider is if you camp in the winter. Butane LPG wouldn't be much use in cold weather as once the outside temperature reaches 3 degrees Celcius the gas will fail to work effectively but Propane will operate at far lower temperatures below minus 30 degrees Celcius. Most campers will opt for the Propane for this reason but read the instructions (if you have any) and see what the advice is regarding which source of LPG is recommended to run the appliance.
I never winter camp, so that wouldnt really be a problem. Im looking online at adapters etc and its looking like a replacement stove would work out cheaper to be honest. As far as I can see a hose and adapter would be as much as a new butane stove. I think the small ads may be calling me.

Any camping appliance will run equally well on propane or butane, as stated propane is required for cold weather use. What you are asking is can this stove be converted to run on bottled gas? Unless anybody can give you an answer backed up by specific knowledge I would just get a new stove.
A perfect candidate for a coleman duel fuel stove. No bottles, hot flame, no waste, fuel avaiable all over the place. http://www.johnscross.co.uk/products/Coleman-Dual-Fuel-2-Burner-Stove-.html
or get one from ebay, they are built like tanks and last at least 20 years.

Till early last year elanman I had a coleman 424 (for the good part of 15 years), but although I thought it was a fantastic stove, my wife just couldnt get on with it. So we got the fold n Go as a replacement. Dont get me wrong, Its a great little stove, but I just feel that its quite wasteful having to throw away these little bottles when im done with them
I think tentz is right though. Its probably going to be a new stove as my only option. Most of the coleman parts to adapt the stove are Too expensive to justify.
Many thanks for the info and advice folks.

I advertised a small festival tent with a couple of self inflating mats and a couple of sleeping bags on our local camping swap group (facebook). This friday im swapping with a fellow camper for a stove with grill, gas bottle and regulator etc. So Im happy with that and it means I can sell my fold n go on ebay or the likes
