Yes, thanks for posting, I've been looking at the solar chargers but they don't get very goods reviews at all.
Yep, the solar solution seems to be all hype, not seen any proper evidence of the required charging output.

I've got a powermonkey explorer that i've had for a few years now. It definitely works and you can charge it from the ciggy lighter as well if need be.
The standard solar panel that comes with it takes some time to charge but you can buy larger panels for it.
That looks great - does anyone know if it is compatible with the samsung galaxy note phone? It's the first 'smart phone I have had so not sure if all the charging points are similar.
Thanks

Yeah should be as yours has a micro USB same as my HTC
Ive got a smaller one, does ok for my phone, cant remember the make, but you can charge IT from USB, mains or via the built in solar panel (takes a full day to charge from solar) then plud IT into the phone to charge the phone, does a 3/4 charge, not a full one.
best advice is to turn the stuff you dont need off, bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, and unless you want all your emails whilst your away, turn sync off as well, I also switch mine onto 2G and can get 2 days as apposed to the usual 1 from the battery on a samsung I5700
Brilliant piece of kit Brommo. Took it away with me last weekend and it charged the iphone up from approx. 15% to 100% twice and still had a 75% charge left in it.
