Hi to everyone I am new to these Forums

I have had a caravan for three years and this year plan to cross the Channel and tour in France.

I googled caravan security and find endless articles about trackers and clamps etc. I have a hitch lock and a wheel clamp I should also add that the van is eight years old so I do not expect anyone to go to the effort of removing them to steal the van.

What I am looking for is advice on how to make my caravan more secure when my wife and I are asleep in it, and its contents more secure when we go to the beach.

One tip would not to leave valuables laying around inside the van, keep them under bunks. Robberies from occupied vans are pretty rare but when they have happened the robbers have been in and out of a van in seconds and will take anything in view, they won't start ransacking the van! I have rigged up a personal alarm for the caravan door so if the door was force open it would pull out the pin to set the alarm off. B&Q sell then for about a fiver. (different from the one in the picture)
