Our caravan is sited in a storage compound right next to the coast. Last year our caravan was never used and we went down to get it yesterday to sort it out ready for using this year. We had one of these Wheel Clamp but had to use some WD40 and then a hammer to smash it off as it had rusted and was not moving at all.
Can anyone recommend a device which will be ideal for a caravan sited near the salty air, which doesn't get used a lot but obviously at a decent price?
As you now know the places on this wheel clamp that rust and sieze, would it not be easier to replace it with the same unit but grease those point where you know are prone to be affected by rust.
If you go for a different type of clamp, you will be back to square one and worrying all next winter what you will find come the following Spring.
