To answer question 1 - yes Calor is cheaper than Camping Gaz.
I can't help on the second question though but if you find a Calor stockist they will tell you what the cost difference is. ------------- Piglet

The smallest Calor bottles 3.9kg propane or 4.5kg butane will do the job, the others you may find rather big. You might get 2 weeks continuous running from these sizes. If you intend to camp early season when you might get frosty nights it would be better to use propane in red bottle.
The bottles are £30 new from supplier + cost of gas. You might find a bottle on carboot sale for a fiver, it don't matter what state it is in as long as it is recognisably Calor & you can exchange for full paying only for contents, around £15 for small bottle so much cheaper than Campingaz refill. You will also need correct regulator + hose & jubilee clips. Gas supplier will have those.
