After plenty of deliberation and calculations we have finally picked a trailer!

Cant wait till 23rd June for our 3 weeks in the Dordogne

Although we will nowhave to say goodbye to the truck which has served us well for the last 5 years

Awww, I take it the trailer is a Brenderup 1150s with extension sides and aluminium flat hard top with gallery rails.

Very handsome trailer, and I am getting one next weekend with ABS lid instead of the flat hard top.

Thanks for posting the pics, as it gives me a good idea of size and dimensions, especially the height with the extension sides, as I have concerns about it being too deep and not easy to access the gears once loaded.

Thanks DK

The rear end extension can lift off so the rear panel can be folded down so there is no worries as far as loading goes, although we are going to put a section in so the tent can be on the floor of the trailer and still be removed first.

We were also going to go for the ABS lid too but we felt it was a little too flimsey for our liking. We took the long drive to Trailer Tech as they have a large selection of built trailer packages to look at and it was worth the drive!

Thanks for the information with regard to the rear end extension and panel.

I envisage for the bits and piece for the tent to be loaded last on top of everything else, as the main tent canvas would always need to be taken out to dry once I get home.

I am tempted by the aluminium hard top with gallery rail, however, I am not too keen on the wooden component. Also the ABS lid will provide slightly more volume, just in case I need it in the future.

Glad to hear you are satisfied with Trailer Tek. I contacted them in the past via e-mail and received no response despite the e-mail being delivered successfully. Hence I shall be getting mine elsewhere.

That's a thought!

I could save a little bit of money by not getting the spare wheel holder, and just take the spare wheel inside the trailer as I shall have room for it.

This way, it will be out of sight.

It's a fab trailer! When you got it home, did the gear you already have fill it? If not then it would be rude not to go out and buy more!

Here's a pic of mine with the ABS lid, packed and ready to leave the camp site after her first successful outing.

Decided to get the spare wheel and holder, as the spare wheel would have taken valuable space in the trailer due to its size. It also makes the trailer look more balanced in a way. I added a bike cable and padlock to secure it to the trailer.

Very pleased with mine as she was very easy to tow even when fully loaded.

Sorry to resurrect this very old thread, but would you be able to put bikes ontop of the ABS lid with the extended sides? I fear it would be too high but looking for someone with some experience. I'm guessing also that bikes ontop of the flat top would be fine.
Cheers.
